Free Kindle eBook - ESCAPE FROM NEW ORLEANS - Insights From My First eBook Giveaway

Today is the start of my first five day book promotion for the episode ESCAPE FROM NEW ORLEANS. The promotion will last from Monday August 11 to Friday August 15. 

Running an eBook giveaway has been an eyeopening experience, so I wanted to share some of my insights. 

If you're interested in running an eBook giveaway, I recommend you have: 

• A Twitter account (@henrysullivan3)
• A Facebook fanpage
• A blog or author website

One of the first things I learned when preparing for my giveaway was that Twitter is one of the most effective ways to promote one. It is entirely possible that I am sending out the following tweet as you read this post:

And when I submitted my eBook giveaway information to promotion websites, my Twitter handle was one of the pieces of information every site requested in their submission forms.

It's been a relief to discover that decisions I made over the last three years have made things much easier now the time has come to run my first eBook giveaway. Those decisions include:

• creating a twitter account, 
• making sure the name of that account, my Facebook fan page, my Goodreads account, and all the others are all Henry L. Sullivan III, 
• Taking the time out to build an online network through different social networking sites. 

All made promoting my eBook giveaway a lot easier.  

By the way, gathering all of this information into a book promotion document, along with the episode's title, description, ASIN, and my bio, has made filling out all those submission forms less hectic.
